Tech Elevator was founded in Cleveland, OH in 2015 by David Wintrich and Anthony Hughes with campuses in Ohio, Pennsylvania, and Delaware and online courses available to students in North Carolina, Illinois, Ohio, Texas, Michigan, Pennsylvania, North Carolina, and nationally. In November 2020, Tech Elevator was acquired by K12, Inc (now Stride) for $23.5M though continues to operate independently of Stride. Tech Elevator's Columbus location is typically hosted at Rev1 Ventures but due to COVID-19, Tech Elevator Columbus has hosted their 14-week, intensive bootcamp with an emphasis in software development 100% online. Tech Elevator is a member of CIRR, the Council on Integrity Results in Reporting and has reported a 95% graduation rate, 90% job placement rate, and their graduates report a median starting salary of $60,000. In addition to outcomes transparency, Tech Elevator invested $1M into their Represent Tech Scholarship which provided for nearly 100% tuition to 76 students in 2020. For students located in Ohio, Tech Elevator has partnered with OhioMeansJobs of Franklin County and the Ohio Department of Developmental Disabilities to support students with their tuition.
