About Institution
The Tech Academy, headquartered in Portland (OR), was founded by Erik Gross and Jack Stanley in 2014. As recently as 2019, The Tech Academy launched a data science curriculum that sits next to its existing Python, Game Developer, C+ and .NET, and Java courses. While the courses offered look extensive, we were surprised by the absence of reported student outcomes, substituting them with industry website awards. The Tech Academy does link to CIRR’s data, but it’s over 2 years old (as of publication of this profile) and The Tech Academy sampled less than 40 students. While we remain optimistic for those who have a valuable experience in the free coding class you can take to start, we don’t typically recommend attending bootcamps who don’t publish outcomes.
